Also ticking the 'Widescreen' option simply does nothing at all. My resolution is 1440x900 and I also use a dual monitor set up, now at lower resolutions my mouse goes onto the second screen, so if I try and click "End Turn" I just end up tabbing out of the game, so esentially my game is unplayable at this moment in time. The game leaves black outlines where it can't fit the screen. My problem is that the game simply does not fit. I understand many widescreen problems have been posted, but they are all about the option not being available and it stretching. Although I feel quite cheeky for signing up and immediatley asking help of the community, I still would like to solve a problem that's been a thorn in my side for quite some time.
